NEW YORK, July 5. George Stevens, at a near-by pleasure resort, has sailed J. H. Baldwin's airship, the California Arrow, 200 feet into the air, and after a trip skirted the ocean front for some dis tance and returned to the place of start ing in safety. While the airship was 100 feet above ground the long drag line which was trailing, caught in the electric wires. Ste vens sent the airship ahead at full speed, the wires gave way, and released the dragline, permitting the airship to con tinue its trip. The propeller was slightly injured while the airship was going back to its port by hitting a projecting beam. Stevens declared that he could easily navigate the California Arrow around the Borough of Brooklyn, a feat which he de clared he will attempt within the next few days. He added: "The ship was under my control from .the time it left the aerodrome until I re turned, and I had no difficulty la describ ing curves, descending or ascending while in the air." No Place for Visitors to Sleep. OLYMPIA, Wash., July 5. (Special.) Several hundred people walked the streets or found hard comfort on the benches in Capitol Park last night, ow ing" to the lack of accommodations for the unexpectedly large number of Fourth of July excursionists.
