14 THE OKEGOXIAN, FKEDAY, JUNE 30, 105. PUT UNDER PEACE BONDS 2CASSIR KHAX GIVES 3IOXETAKY SECURITY TO COURT. Implicated in an Attempt to Kill Mir All Who Testified Against ' Him at Seattle. r"or testifying before a King-County Jury at Seattle that Nassir Khan killed Mir All on the shores o Lake Washing ton three years ago and threw his body Into the water. Abdul Raymund came near paj-lng forfeit with his life at Six teenth and Irving streets at 10 o'clock "Wednesday night. Yesterday It was clearly proved In the Municipal Court that Khan. E. Myres and E. Hashur bad entered Into an agreement either to kill or severely beat their enemy. Judge Hogue and Deputy District At torney Bertrand Haney were so firmly convinced that a plot existed to kill Ray mund. with Khan as the leading spirit, that it was Anally decided to place him under heavy peace bonds and to file a charge of threatening to kill against him. The other two men were fined $10 each cn, charges of ass-ault and battery. A. Walter Wolfe, counsel for the de fendants, argued to Judge Hogue that there was no danger of murder, but the court would not listen to it and held Khan under bonds. Khan la Quite wealthy, according to money relations as viewed by Afghanistan natives, and Im mediately furnished the necessary sum. He will appear today to answer to the charge of threatening to kill. There has been bad blood between Khan and Raymund ever since the latter went before the Jury and swore that Khan told him he murdered Mir All. The latter was a peddler of East Indian trinkets, and traveled about Seattle and vicinity. He was stabbed as he was walk ing along the Northern Pacific tracks that wind along the shores of Lake Washington. His body was found In the water and the police and Sheriff's force were busy for many months solving the mystery of the murder. Raymund admits that he met Khan in Portland two years after the murder, and declares that Khan said he murdered Mir All- Raymund went to Seattle and told Sheriff Cudihee all he knew, and Khan was arrested here and takon to Seattle to stand trial. He was acquitted. He returned here and has been here since. , None of the three defendants was aWe yesterday to tell Judge Hogue a straight etory of tholr Journeyings the previous evening and from other evidence adduced It was 'clear that they lay in wait for their enemy and attacked him as he came along with his tamales. They are also tamale men. which served to strengthen their dislike for Raymund. Raymund testified yesterday that he was living in great fear of his life; that he had been driven from Sea le and Spo kane by his enemies and must have pro tection in Portland. During the proceed ings the courtroom was filled with dark skinned Easl Indians. LOW RATES EAST. Or. June $. 29 and 30. the Chicago & Korthwostcrn railway will sell tickets to Baltimore.
