WILL HOLD BIG CONVENTION
Three Commercial Bodies Announce
Lists of Delegates Who Will Rep
resent Portland at the -Meet-
lng Next Wednesday.

terest in the Oregon Development League
Convention. Delegations from 'several or
ganizations like the Portland Ad Men's
League have already been announced. A
special request has gone out that each
and every one of the officers of all the
commercial bodies of this city be present
at the opening of the convention at the
Marquam Grand Theater, at 9:30 o'clock
JVednesday morning, April 25.
A reception committee, of which Messrs.
E. L. Thompson and S. G. Reed are joint
chairmen, will meet at the Marquam
Grand Theater at 9 o'clock,'-, where the
delegates will be given an opportunity to
register and receive badges. This com
mittee will be announced later.

certainty that the convention will be very
much larger than the first one held last

Dies or Heart Disease on Street.
From heart trouble. Samuel TV. Maries
died suddenly on Third, near Salmon
street, at 11 o'clock yesterday morning.
He sank to the sidewalk and expired
before a physican could reach him. Dep
uty Coroner A. I. Finley took charge
of the body. He stated that no inquest
would be held. The funeral arrangements
have not been made.
Mr. Marks was 60 years old and was one
of the most widely-known men In Port
land. For a long time he was Constable
In Judge Bullock's East Side Justice Court,
but recently had been engaged In other
business. ,
