Wall street Is having such a period of business depres sion as it has not experienced In several years, and one result of it is that hun dreds of clerks have been dismissed. One of the largest operators on the Stock Exchange says he believes that no less than 2500 clerks and other employes have been dismissed by the brokerage and banking houses in the last two weeks.
