ing claims, -which -was forfeited a few
days aso, is reported to have sailed lor
South America at least a wjsek ago to
avoid answering charges of grand larceny
in connection with mining schemes. He
Is said to have gone away disguised as an
invalid.
According to Information received at the
District Attorney's office Flower, before
leaving, emptied several safe deposit
boxes in his name about town and dis
posed of gilt-edged securities which he
owned for at least $500,000 in cash.
