WEATHER CONDITIONS.
Rain has fallen durlne the last 12 hours in
California, and light snow Is reported from
Northern Nevada and Western Montana. In
the North Pacific States fair -weather has pre
vailed. It Is much cooler in Montana, the Da
kotas and California. Elsewhere in the states
west of the Mississippi River but little change
in temperature has taken place. The indica
tions are for generally fair weather in this
district Tuesday.
THE RIVER.
The Upper Willamette continues to fall. Th
river at Portland is slowly rising, and at 5 P.
M. Monday had reached a stage of 14.1 feet.
The rise at Portland will continue another '21
hours, probably reaching a stage of 15 feet
Tuesday forenoon and about 15.5 feet Wednes
day morning. It is not thought at this writing
that a stage of over 15.C feet will be reached
during the present rise.
