THR MORNING OttEOONTAN,. FRIDAY FEBRUARY lo, 1901. 9 ADVERSE TO MANAGEMENT BLIND SCHOOL FAILS TO WITH STAND INVESTIGATION. Special Committee Will Recommend Change, bat Just Ho-ir Soon la Not Known. SAX.EM, Or., Feb. 14. The special com mittee appointed by the two houses of the Legislature to investigate charges of -dissatisfaction with the management of the state school for the blind has decided to make a report adverse to the manage ment. The committee has held sessions at the Blind School and has heard the tes timony of a number of witnesses, both pupils' and patrons. The committee ar rives at the conclusion that, although tho superintendent of that institution is a gen tleman of many admirable qualities, he has not been able to get along with the pupils of the school as well as might be desired. The committee found no very serious instance of mismanagement, and no flagrant abuses, but since there' has been an unpleasant friction in the school during a period extending over more than two years, it was thought best to make a report showing such a condition. It la not known whether the report will rec ommend an early change in the manage ment, but it will at least be such as will make a change necessary at the Close of the present school year. GOVERNOR.
