Plans for the entertainment of the mem bers of the Northwest Fruit Growers Association, -which will meet in Portland February 5. 6 and 7, were discussed at a meeting held at 24G "Washington street ytvterdav afternoon. Dr. J. R. Card-well was elected chairman. H. E. rjosch, sec retary, and C. H. Markham, treasurer. It was voted to give the visitors a cordial reception and make arrangements for the convention. The following committees were appointed: Finance G. S. Mann, W. H. Cirapin and H. E. Dosch. Entertainment J. A. Bell, Mark Levy and H. E. Dosch. Hall, decorations, music and badges Albert H. Harding, J. A. Bell and H. E. Dosch. The meeting of the Fruit Growers' As sociation Is Important, as members will attend from Washington, Idaho, Montana and British Columbia, as weH aB a large nunroer from Oregon. Among the speak ers will be Mr. Moore, of St. Paul, and hi3 associates representing the Northern Pa cific. Professor H. E Van Deman, ex Unlted States nomologist, now connected with the Pan-American Exposition, as will as professors from the various United States experimental stations and agri cultural colleges and prominent fruit growers. Governor Geer and Mayor H. S. Rowe have been invited to deliver ad dresses "of welcome, to which responses will be made by Dr. N. G. Bialock, of Walla "Walla, president of the association, and E.
