Mortgage Is Canceled.
The $1600 mortgage on the Woodlawn
Methodist Church, held by Mrs. Evans, of
Albina, has been duly canceled and the
property Is free of debt. For this pur
pose the money -was all raised last month.
Mrs. Evans very generously donated $800
of the amount and the remainder was
raised by the members and their friends,
contributions coming from many out
siders In Portland. The property. Includ
ing church and manse, cost $4000. Four
years ago It would have been Impos
sible to raise the money. The mortgage
trill be burned at a celebration soon to
be held In the church, when Bishop Crans
ton will be present.

WEATHER CONDITIONS.
The area of fogglness In the Pacific North
vest has contracted, and now the only section
affected Is "Washington and the extreme north
western portion of Oregon. No rain has fallen
in the Rocky Mountain or Pacific Coast States
during the last 24 hours, and as a rule sea
sonable temperatures prevail. The barometer
is. lowest oft the Southern Oregon Coast, and
the indications are that a storm is approach
ing that section from the ocean, that will
cause unsettled weather, with rain, along the
coast. Saturday, but it is probable that tho
rain will not spread over the interior districts
before Saturday night or Sunday.
