CROPS DAMAGED BY RAIN.
Psyallap Frnlt and Grain Affected
Tke Hop Situation.
-PUTAJAATP, Vjasfe.. June 2L The con
tinuous rain of the past four days has
done a great amount of damage to the
Irult crop in the Puyallup district, cherries
In particular being badly damaged. Hay
and grain are lying on the ground, and
tinjesa the "weather Improves, much of It
will be a total loss, aa the farmers will
not ba able to cut It.
The hop crop is not being injured by the
rain, although growers -will probably be
put to some extra cost for spraying, the
rain favoring the breedings of hop lice.
Estimates of the crop of 1900 are put at
85 per cent of th 1S99 crop, the acreage
ot being quite as large. A couple of
contracts have been made at 9 and 10 cents
per rK3utid. Many of the yards have not
been cultivated this year, the owners be
ing discouraged by the low price prevail
ing last year. Some of the growers eay
If prices do not improve, they will not
pick this year's crop, as they claim, at 51
per box for picking, with cost of dryng
end packing, they would lose money by
doing so.
Suit tho people, because they are tired
of bitter doses, with the pain and griping
that usually follow. Carter's Utile Liver
