Mr. Turner who was better known among the older residents of this city by the cognomen of "Gold hunter" was born In the Btato of Dela ware and came to Oregon about 18G0. , He was In the early sixties engaged in mining and In later years engaged In Industrial pursuits In this city, Thoi failure of the Portland Savings Unnlq in which be had placed a large portion of the Bavlngs of his toll, unbalanced his reason and he was committed to the Insane asylum. Mr Turner during his life time was of nn upright and frugal nature and had accumulated quite a little money. Mr. George Wat kins of the firm of Pnrrlsh, Watklns & Cornell who had for years been his advisor and confidential friend was ap pointed as his guardian and made ar rangements for Ills funeral which took plaoo on Wednesday at 10 o!clock a. m from Holman's undertaking par lors, Itev. Geo. 15. Jackson, officiating.
