found a large quantity of old printer's roller,
from which, it was ascertained that the own-
era of the worka were in the practice of run
king brandy, by extruding tho molasses, used

must be a sweet decoction that is produced
from such a material. The roller ia the dev
il't 'principal instrument in a printing office,
which he constantly washea with lye. Tho
brandy made from such a material, must be
the very ewence of lye.
