He alto introduced, a hill to cstuhhsli a mail route from Aubnrn to Clarktrille, in Ore gou, which wat read a first and secnud time and referred tn tlio Ci-miuittoo on Pott Office and Pott Roads. He also Introduced a bill providing fur the payment nf expense incurred iu iiippresiing Indian hostilities, in the Territory ol Oregon, in 1854, which was read a first and second time and referred tn the Committee on Com. nierce. Mr. Henderson submitted the follow ing resolution, which wa read, considered and agreed to : ' " Rrmlvtil, That it it the duty n well ns the true policy of tho General Government tn encourage the development uf the resources of our Pacilio State and Territories, hv encour aging the building uf military ruilruiids in them; by protecting the live and property uf their inhabitant against Indian depredmioii ; hr extending to them convenient and liberal mail facilities; by affording greater security to life and commerce in their ocean navigation ; aud by a generous and liberal policy (nwnrd their mining interest." We take the following from the editorial col umn nf tlio New York Herald i This Star op Oiikoon Loominu Up. The first practical endorsement of the policy uf President Johnson occurred in the House of Representatives on Thursday, in the unani. moiia adoption nf the resolution ull'ered by Mr. Henderson, nf Oregon, to wil i that " Treason ngniitat the United States Government i a crime, and ought to be punished." Tin was President Johnson' doctrine from the sturt. and we lire glad tn see this emphatic endorse ment of it by Congress. The State nr Oregon therefore begins to loom up in the councils uf tho nation. Hut why should the not 1 .It may scarcely teem creditable, hut it i nevertheless a fact, that within tho past six month treasure in gold and silver tu the amount nf twelve mil lion of dollar lias passed through it portals on its wny from the rich gold and silver high; lauds of Idnhu, the western portion of Monta na, nnd n bit of British Columbia. Tin it lit tho rule of two millions per month, to say noth ing about the great amount nf treasure oarried nivny by the gold nnd silver digging boy In person. Well may the star uf Oregon loom up. In that notice we can tee whnt nn active, wide awake Representative can do lor Oregon. Mr. Henderson is keeping Oregon before the people, and it will tell to the advnntage of the State. Ssn this Papiib Kast livery friend of Oregon, and especially of 8alein and Mariou County, should send Ibis Xn.of Iho KtateMman to Ida friends In the East.
