horrible catastrophe of tbe explosion of the boiler of
the steamer Ynaeuiile, which occurred at Kin Vista at
six o'clock Inst evening, just as tbe steamer was leav
ing her wharf on her down trip to San Francisco. Fif
teen white passengers are killed and missing, and 34
wounded bv scalds and bruises. Twenty-tlve China
men are believed to have been tost. None of the la
dies on board were Injured. The steamer Chrvsopo
lis. which arrived at three o'clock, brought, all of the
