from thence, on the moat feasible and direct miitte,

consin and Michigan, in a direction lending to Ontoti

Bee. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said

to the disposal of the legislature thereof, for the pur-

a. and remain, a public highway for the use of the
government of the United Mule's, free from tolls or
other charge upon the Irunaporimlou of any property,
troops, or umila of the United Htutee.
See. 3. And be it further enacted, Thut the lands
hereby granted to said state shall he disposed of only
in the following manner that Is to say, when the
aid governor ahull certify to the Hecretnry of the
Interior that any ten consecutive miles of auid roud
has been completed undo the provision! of thia act,
and in accordance with the fourth section of Ibis act
staling dettnitely w here said completed sod ion of
road commences and where it terminates, it shall he
the duty of the aaid secretary to ettuse patents to issue
to lahi stale for llnee sections of laud lor each mile of
road thin completed as aforeauiil. and so on tinill the
whole of said roud is completed t Provided, further,
That no patent shull be given for auy of the aforesaid
lands Itefore the completion of ten consecutive isai loss
uf rond, or for any roud, or fur any groater quantity
than thirty sections for each ten miles completed ac
