COMMMNOKMKNT Of CkN. GltANT'S CAM- Pahis into Gkoroia. Everybody who ol iurvcd the uniiflVcteil oust) anil enjoyment of Gen. Grant, duiing hii lat visit to thii city, would hardly have supposed that tlio magnifi cent army under hit ooinmand wat on tint ova of a campaign which will, if incoessful, virtu ally end the rebellion, or which, if unsuccess ful, will prolong it far beyond present calcula tion. Yot such win thii truth. Tbo General had, donbtlcss. plnnneil hi) campaign before he luft Nashville, and troopa and flu pplii-g were already in motion, in pursuance of his plant. To-day, (the second anniversary of the oup turo of Fort Donelsun.) we hoar of the move ment of oar troops out of Chuttaoooga, across the Qonrgia line. It it now apparent that tbo movement of Gen. Sherman Iroin Vicksburg and tlio impor tant oavalry raid from Corinth, nndcr Generals Grierson and Smith, looks to an attack on Gen. Polk'i troops, lately oooupying Moridian, Cnl n tubus and other points in Mississippi and Ala bama. If Polk oan he out off from Chatta nooga and driven to Mobile, he oan bo penned np there by General Hanks! troops, and Biier mau continue his nmrch to the south of Clint taniMiga. and thos threaten Joe Johnston's flank.. Grant has his troops well in hand and will hold Longftrect at bay in East Tennessee, The movements in Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia are part of Grant's general plan, and while we have pcrfeot confidence in the plan, tome anxiety must still prevail as to the exe cution thereof in all Its parte. t The Massachusetts Agricultural Col- x-rqb. W, The 2d (Rebel) Keutuoky Cavalry, ut Dalton, ou the expiration of their term, Feb. Sth, wero ordered by Gen. Johnston to ro-eulist for five years or be conscripted for that timu. The 3d Alabama cavalry was called out to en force the order, when a fight ensued between the regiments, which resulted in the loss of 3 killed and 5 wounded in the Kentucky regi ment, aud some thirty killed nnd wounded in the Alabama regiment. The AlubamiHiis wore completely rooted and fled In great disorder. The Kentuckians then scattered iu every direc tion, many of them coming to Chattunuogu. Among the recent items of news from South ern papers are these : ' Portions of the rebel army are re enlisting nod passing resolutions full of gigantic adjec tives aud adverbs. A Warning to Ham Eatkiib. The New Yoik papers record the following extraordinary orse: A family named Flaig, residing at No. 4., Elizabeth street, has recently been poisoned by eating uncooked ham. Htf Scrofula, or King's Evil, la onnstitulional disease u corruption of llir liliaal, by wliieli this Hind beetmiea vitiated, weak, and poor, llcinsj iu tho uieulaiiou, it pervades the vvhnle bodv, and may bunt out In tliwase n any part of it. No organ is free from its attacks, nor is I hero oue which it may not destroy. I ho scrofu lous taint is variously tuused hy mercurial dUvasc, low living, dUnrdeu d or unhealthy food, impure air, tilth and filthy hahits, the depressing vices, and, above all, by the venereal infection. What ever bo Its origin, it is hereditary in tho constitu tion, descending from parents to children unto the third and fourth generation ;" indeed, it seems to bo the rod of Him who says, I will visit the iniquities of the fathers upou their children." it effects commence by deanition from the blood of corrupt or ulcerous matter, which, in the lungs, liver, and internal organs, is termed tuber cles ; in I lie glands, swelluigs) and on the surface, eruptions or sores. This foul corruption, which genders in the blood, depresses tho energies of life, an that scrofulous constitutions not only suffer from scrofulous complaints, but they havo far leas power to witlutond the attacks of other diseases ; con sequently, vast numbers perish by disorders which, although not scrofulous in their nature, are still ren dered fatal by this taint in the system. Moat of the consumption which decimates the human family has its origin directly In this scrofulous contamina tion; aud many destructive discuses of the liver. kidneys, brain, aud, indeed, of all tho organs, nriso from or ore aggravated by the same cause. Oue quarter of all our people are scrofulous; their persons are invadid liv this lurking infortio.1, and their health is undermined by it. To rleause it from tho system we must renovate the blood by an alterative medicine, and invigottita it by healthy food and uxcruue. iSuch a uadiuut) we supply in AYE It'S Coiii)onnd Extract of &iftii)iirilla, the most effectual remedy which tho medical skill of our timet can devise for this cvrrv where pre vailing mid fatal malady. It is combined from the most active remedial that have been discovered for the expurgation of this foul disorder from the bliHal, and tho rescue of the system from its deslruelive consequences.
