that is claimed lor it, but more because many prep
arations, pretending to be concentrated extracts of
it, contain but little of the virtue of Sarsaparilla, or
any thing else.
During late yean the public have been misled
by large bottles, pretending to give a quart of Ex
tract of Sarsaparilla for one dollur. Mutt of these
have been frauds upon the tick, for they not only
contain little, if any, Sarsaparilla, but often no
curative properties whatever. Hence, bitter and
painful disappointment hot followed the use of the
various extracts of Sarsanurillii which flood the
market, until tlie name itself it justly despised, and
has become synonymous with imposition and cheat.
Still we call this compound Sursiiparilla, ond intend
tn supply such a remedy as sliull rescue the name
from the load of obloquy which rests upon it. And
we think wo havo ground for believing it hot vir
tues which ore irresistible by the ordinary run of
tho diseases It it intended to cure, in order to
secure their complete eradication from tho system,
the remedy should bo judiciously taken acemdirg
to directions on tlie bottle.
