That they can prevented by proper arents, is as well an established faet as that tliev can be cured after their establishment. This principle, which is now universally recosmized. was received even before the davs of Jenner, the discoverer of vaccination, in 175, and its multiplied benefits ever sinee have re ceived as they deserved, the attention of toe Medical faculty. It was in pursuit of this branch of the medical science that Dr. L. J. Czapkay-fortnnatrfy made the dis covery of his Prophvlacticum, whi'-h. for the ranceroos and cutanous disorders, stands unrivalled by any azent la the Pharraacopora, The modm operandi at this med icine is explained npon the hypothesis that secret poisins possess chemical properties which ar neutralized by beins brooght in contwt with this pmphyiatic, as acids are known to neutralize alkalies, destroying entirely thrir original properties, and rendering them inert. The effect of this areut is immediate, and removes the possibility of a contra.rti-n of disease. If, however, the disease has been contracted, it is useful in nentralizin.s the poisonous secretions, which by absorption, produce the consequences known as secondary di-ease. In can cerous and ganerons ulcers, in fetil discharges and in cntaaons diseases where the secretions are cx-toriatins. it acts npon the same principle and Is one of the most effectual remedies for the purpose now known. Where disease is once established it should te nsed in connec tion with other remedies, and when so used never fails of success. The latter having been afflicted by a severe attack of '-Cholera Infantum," was given up as incurable by some of the most celebrated physicians, when she called on Dr. Cxapkay, of whom he heard very favorable report, and who, alter a short period, restored the child to perfect health. Encour jiged by this extraordinary result, she sought advice herself, for the scrofulons malady, with which she bad heen afflicted for eight years, and which withstood tlie treatment of the best physicians in Europe and Ameri ca. But Dr. Czapkay has succeeded in affording ber neronnent relief, so that she can now enjoy life, which, for eight years had lost all charms for her. To calm our sufferings and assange our woes. The Petroleum has been fullv tested. It was ulaced before the public as remedy of wonderful efficacy. These spoke out In its favor. The lame. throiiL'h" its instrumcntalitr. were litndc to walk the blind, tu see. It you still have doubts, go and ask those who have been cured ! Some of them live in our midst, and ran answer for themnelves. In writing about a medicine, we are aware that we should write Truth that we should make no statements that cannot be proved. We have the wit nesses: rrowdsof them, who will testify in terms strong- er than we ran write them, to the cflicarv of this reme dy; who will testify that the Petroleum has done for them what no medicine ever could before : cases that were pronounced hopeless, and beyond the reach of re mediate means: rases abandoned 1v iihvsicinns of nn questioned celebrity, have !cn made to exclaim. " this Is the most wonderful remedy ever discovered !'' We will lay before you the certificates of some of the most remarkable cases ; to give them all. would require more space than would be allowed by this circular. Since the Introduction of the Petroleum, many physicians nave been convinced or its efficacy, and now recommend it in their practice : and we have no doubt that it will stand at the head of the lict or valuable remedies. If the physicians do not recommend it. the people will nave i ui mcniscivc - lor us iransceimoiii nower 10 heal trill and niuf liernmc known and appreciated : when the voices of the cured sjieak out ; when the cures themselves stand out in lld relief, and when he who for years has suffered with the tortures and pangs or an immedicable lesion, that has lrn vhorteninir his davs. and hastening him " to the narrow house appointed Tor all the living." when he speaks out in its praise, who wm dotibt It: llie Petroleum U a riatural Kerned v : it Is put np as it flows rrom the Kwom or the earth, with out any thing being added to or taken from it. It gets its ingredients from the leds or substances which passes over in its secret channel. Tliey are blended together In such a form as to defy all human competition. The Petroleum in this respect is like Min eral Waters, whose virtues in most chronic diseases are acknowledged, not only by plivsicians. Ixit bv the com munity at large. These singtilur fluids flowing out of the earth, impregnated with medicinal substances or different prtiperties, and holding them in such complete solution as to require the aid of Chemistry in order to detect them, bears ample pror.f to the ract that they are compounded by the master hand of Nature, for the alle viation of human ntteriiig aud disease. If Petroleum is met'icine at all, it is a g-wxl one. for Natuie never half d-ies her work ; and that it is a medicine of uncinalcd power, we have the nvist abundant testimony. It will he nsrd when many of the new remedies now in vogue will have been forjutten forever. It will continue to lie used and applied as a remedy as long as man continues to he afflicted with disease. That it will cure every dis ease to which we are liable, we do not pretend ; bnt that it will cure a great many diseases hitherto incura ble, is a fact which is proven by the evidence in its fa vor. Its discoveiy is a new" era in medicine, and will Inure to the health and happiness of irmn. RcnorrtA. Tlie Petroleum is a great medicine in Scrofula and King's Evil, in all those diseases having their origin in a depraved condition of the blood and other fluids of the body.
