Tub Eugene, City Division of tho Sons of Temperance, gave a concert, in tho Court House, List Wednesday evening. The entertainment consisted in delightful music, vocal mid instru mental, speeches and essays. The arguments of the speakers and writers were all very good, but the songs of the "little girls," ancl "young ladies," were much better. Tho Court House was filled with American sovereigns, and fair ladies, and all seemed well pleased with the performance. These "Sons'" that is tha '-better half" of them know how to make things interesting. We leai n from A. S. McCluie, County Trcas. urcr, that there are now sufficient funds in the Treasury to pay off all tho indebtedness of the County. County orders would now be as good as the gold, were it not for the fact that a con siderable portion of the tax has been paid in greenbacks, which will have to bo paid out to those who have claims against tho County. All who have orders drawn on the Treasurer, are required to presenj them for payment, as their money is ready, and the interest will be stopped from and after this date. See notice in another column. Sbk notice of Sheriff Brattain, to delinquent tax payers, in this paper. AM who have not yet paid their taxes, are required to make payment bef! re the 20th day of this month. Mr. Hrattaiu desires to favor all as much as possible, but the law requires him to make settlement with tho eCounty Commissioners, on the first Monday in April. So those who do not pay up by the 50th inst., will have to pay costs, and nobody but themselves to blame for it.
