The undersigned commenced, in the nionth of Decern
ber Inst, the publication', iu this city, of a Weekly newspa
per, culled the Xiliiimil h'fpvUimn.
It is printed on u large sheet, twenty-seren by forty two
inches, mid is furnished at the low prices stated below.
It will contain nil the original matter of the daily Auwsy
al lirfiiMintn, wilh the exception of locul news not inter
esting to country subtxiihers. It will give full reports of
the proceedings of Congress, and of tlieotherdepartiiienu
uf the national Uovernment. It will con lain all the newt
of the day, foreign and domestic, markets, etc., as well
aso-'gioul correspondence from ail parts of the country.
The miscellaneous department will receive soecmt attention
and, iu all respects, ttieell'ort will be made to establish the
character of the .dt inn.il KpiMimn as a Family Newspa-
rr. v asningiou oeing now tne central point or the cur
rent military operations, great attention will be paid to
furnishing the readers of the Xiitimnl M'puHifiin with full,
and especially with uwnme, accounts of Wit progresa of
the war for the Citiow.
In politics, the paper will be Ropubliran, kuatainiiig tha
Administration of Mr. Lincoln, but disclaiming, however
any pretention to be the organ of the I'resulent. There ia
no Republican paper in the District of Cilniubin, or in tha
vicinity ot it, ami it is believed that recent events have
opened to such a paper an important sphere of useful effort.
The time has come, when the actual ndnrrMstrution of tha
Ooverniiient upon Republican principles wHH explode tha
misrepresentations which have mude those principles so
distasteful to the South. Hut it is not only here, and in
this vicinity, that tbe projectors of the Xatimal Ktpubtifan
hope to make it usclul. To the whole country they olfer a
ournal which will discuss national politics from a national
standpoint, and which will never he swerved from natrtatia
dnty by any overpowering pressure nf local interest.
