Clark Invitational Speech and Debate Tournament at the University of Oregon on Feb. 15-16. Competing in Dramatic Interpretation, Maggie Bertrand won first and Audrey Schlemmer (pictured at right) took second. Theo McCormick won second place in Radio Commentary. The team (pictured above) entered 20 students in 42 events at the annual competition. Freshman Arden Reid was awarded third place Speaker in Junior Par- liamentary Debate. Nine students qualified to final rounds of competition. Fourth place winners were the Duo Interpretation team of Jacob Kaplan and Bertrand and freshman Theo Levine, Junior Poetry. Finishing in fifth place were senior Nazareth Chavarria in Prose Reading, sophomore Jazmin Contreras in Program Oral Interpretation, freshmen Melanie Glatter, Junior Poetry and Sadie Smith, Infor- mative. Smith was acknowledged as the top Novice Speaker in her event and was a finalist in Junior Prose. Senior Jordan Killingsworth placed sixth in Junior Poetry and made the final round in Junior Radio Commentary.
