KIDS braved the hot weather
Monday evening to compete in
the TrackTown Youth League All-
Comers Meet in Hood River at
the high school track. The Track-
Town Youth League, presented
by Providence Health & Ser-
vices, is a series of free all-comer
track meets across Oregon,
open to all boys and girls ages
8-14. Events included the 100
meter, 400 meter, and 1500
meter races, long jump and tur-
bojav. Other events of this kind
have been held around Oregon
this spring, with the top finish-
ers advancing to a champi-
onship meet at Hayward Field at
the University of Oregon follow-
ing the USA Track & Field Cham-
pionships on June 27.

The Hood River 14U Senior Federal Junior Baseball Organization won another tournament
this last weekend in Beaverton. It was the Westview Senior Federal Tournament, which saw
some great weather. The Junior Eagles beat Silverton and Southridge on Saturday, and beat
Westview in the semifinals to advance to the championship against Tualatin, which Hood
River won, 9-7. The team is pictured here posing with the championship trophy after the
