He moved
to Oregon at
a young age
with his fa-
ther, Thomas
Edwin John-
s o n , wh o m
passed away
Christopher in 2011. He
spent several

years in the
Army. Got married to Char-
lotte (High) Johnson, on
Sept. 19, 1992.
Chris is survived by his
wife, Charlotte; his son and
daughter-law, James and
Je n ny B i t n e r, a n d fo u r
daughters: Ashley Bitner,
Mickayla Johnson, Melissa
Johnson and Megan John-
son, along with half-sister
Bonnie Vasquaze, his step-
mom and several nieces and
nephews.
Chris was a loving hus-
band and father. He spent
most of his days detailing
cars, spending a lot of time
with his family and being
an outdoorsman. His re-
mains will be cremated as
he wished. God has another
angel. He will always be in
our thoughts and hearts.

Mercado del Valle returning to Odell
On Saturday, June 20 at 3
p.m., the Mercado del Valle
Farmers’ Market in Odell
opens for the season at Mid
Va lle y E le m e n t a r y. T h e
Mercado del Valle offers
something for everyone
with a diverse set of ven-
dors selling locally raised
ve g e t abl e s, f r u i t , m e at ,
cheese, eggs, honey, and
bread. Prepared food ven-
dors will offer hot food and
authentic Mexican cuisine.
In addition, live music,
weekly folkloric dancing
and children’s activities

grief ? How can understand-
ing cultural and individual
differences in grief and
g rieving help us as we
grieve and as those around
us grieve? Is all grief treat-
ed equally on a societal
level? What is dignity thera-
py?

port local farmers and pro-
ducers, socialize with each
other, and learn healthy liv-

be great events at the mar-
ket this year, including OSU
Extension cooking demos,
community yoga, zumba,
soccer tour naments, and
visits from the Hood River
Library for market atten-
dees to check out books. No
