Several hundred people of all ages attended Friday’s opening at the
art gallery The Remains, underground in the Union Building on In-
dustrial Way. Garrett Arceneaux served up his Louisiana-style
gumbo while Starlyn Chavez serves Full Sail ale (behind them are
railcars on the Union Pacific tracks). Below, the large (and this is
just part of it) perennially-expanding Foreverscape mural (com-
prised of 16-inch square panels that meet up and continue in all di-
rections) by Vance Feldman, will remain on exhibit this month.
At left, Blaine and Bethany Franger opened their photo gallery, after
a year’s renovation, on Second Street below Shortt Supply. Below
left, at the “Human Nature” opening at Columbia Center for the
Arts, photographer Nick Bielemeier, a participant in the show,
meets George Earley of Parkdale.
