Dick and Fern Van Voast will celebrate their 62 wedding
anniversary on May 3, 2015. The couple was married in Liv-
ermore, Calif., on May 3, 1953, and have been residents of
Hood River since 1987. Dick is an artist and Fern is a home-
maker.
Community members can
find out more about the Ore-
gon Health Plan, get immu-
nization updates, learn about
diabetes, stroke, asthma, sleep
apnea and breast cancer, learn
heart healthy habits, and get
information from a lactation
consultant and a dietician.
Information will be avail-
able on bike safety, bone
health and food curriculum,
proper tooth brushing tech-
niques, nutrition, telemedi-
cine and grief support.
Attendees will be able to
have their vital signs taken
and balance tested, have some-
one work with them on proper
body alignment to help sitting
in their office chairs at work,
sign up for smoke detectors
and reverse 911, and learn
about the benefits of essential
oils.
Information will also be
available on parenting classes,
and classes available to the
community at the Mt. Hood
Town Hall including Zumba,
yoga, Tai Chi, gardening, pot-
tery and cooking.
“There will be a lot of good
information, so come join us
for some fun,” said organizer
Alison Betzing. “The health
fair is free and open to every-
one! We hope to see you
there!”

The bride is a 2002 gradu-
ate of Hood River Valley
High School and a 2006 grad-
uate of University of Port-
land School of Nursing. She
works as Nurse Quality Su-
pervisor for Providence Med-
ical Group. Her parents are
Chuck and Kristi Thomsen
of Hood River.
The groom is the son of
Robert and Teresa Rummel
of Tacoma, Wash, and a 2005
graduate of Stadium High
School. He works as Product
Support Engineer for Pitney
Bowes.
Officiating was Matthew
Bell, cousin of the groom.
Bridesmaids were sisters-in-
law Nicole Rummel, and
Caitlin Tukua. Ring bearers
wee Jack Rummel and Henry
Barber, ne phews of the
groom.
Mallory Libeg, the bride’s
sister, served as matron of
honor, and Christopher Rum-
mel, brother of the groom,
served as best man. Grooms-
man was Brent Tukua,
brother-in-law. The couple
honeymooned in Kapaa,
Kauai, Hawaii, and lives on
the Thomsen family orchard
in Pine Grove.
The bride wore a strapless
gown of ivory silk dupioni
with a sweetheart lace neck-
line and trumpet silhouette.
Wedding colors were white,
silver, and aquamarine.
F lowers were white hy-
drangeas by Lucy’s Informal
Flowers. The reception was
catered by Antojitos San-
huayo, and the cake was
baked by the bride’s cousin,
Lindsey Ewald of Frosted.

on July 11, 2015.
The bride-to-be is the
daughter of Charles and
Betty Weatherly of Hood
River. She graduated from
Hood River Valley High
School in 1999 and received
her degree from Southern
Oregon University in 2003.
She is currently the church
secretary at Faith Bible
Church.
The future groom is the
son of Mary Hewitt and
stepson of Timothy Hewitt
of Bremerton, Wash., and
William L. Aman of Wash-
ington. He received his
diploma from Olympic Col-
lege in 1996, attending vari-
ous technical schools and
training before becoming a
software developer for Kit-
sap Credit Union in Bre-
