bate preparation, accord-
ing to advisor Delona
Campos-Davis.
“The team has been in a
building year, with many
freshman and others new
to competitive speech,”
Campos-Davis
said.
“Aside from the individ-

FOOD DISTRIBUTION, as well as nutrition education and community outreach, will happen at the
new FISH site on Tucker Road.
Locks sites will continue to
operate as well.
Construction on the Hood
River project will be com-
plete around the middle of
April, according to Chuck
Bugge of the FISH building
committee.
“The committee agreed
that our most important
issue is to be ready to serve
our community,” Bugge said.
Later this month volun-
teers will begin assembling
shelving and moving food
and supplies on site.
FISH is also scheduling
training of volunteers on
new protocol and adjust-
ments to a new environment.
The committee has set
June 20 as a date for a com-
munity open house.
Meanwhile, construction
workers are not the only
ones busy at the new facility.
Hood River Middle School
students have created a
mural in the waiting room to
welcome visitors.

with their project.
“It’s a really cool commu-
nity project already estab-
lished, and it’s great to see
the community out here ex-
cited to save some fish,” Dil-
lon said.
Catching fish in nets “is
kinda hard,” said Lila
Mortenson, 7, a Mosier Com-
munity School student who
was at the creek with brother
Leif, 9, and parents Tim and
Rachel.
Donna Bender ag reed.
“It’s harder than it looks,”
she said. “These fish are
speed demons. But if the
Art, fashion, ideas, at
Cascade Locks event
water dries up and they don’t
get help, they will die.”
In the first hour and a half
of work, Igo estimated 390
fry had been saved.
