Brothers Gow return April 10
Touring with a brand new album titled “Reflections,”
the rock-jam outfit Brothers Gow have been travelling for
the last seven years throughout the Western U.S. Their
last show at River City Saloon was “standing room only,”
and their upcoming show on Friday, April 10, promises to
be a repeat high-energy performance. On Saturday, April
18, get ready for The Quick & Easy Boys, promoting their

Secret Salsa meets April 10
Secret Salsa Society invites you to join the group for
an evening with Javier Solis, founder of the Gemini
Salsa Dance Company. Javier will be teaching Bachata, a

Portland Gay Men’s Chorus
to perform at Old St. Peter’s
Portland Gay Men’s Chorus performs at the Old St.
Peter’s Landmark in The Dalles on Sunday, April 12, at 3
p.m. Their concert, “Celebrate the Journey,” is part of its
Celebrate Oregon Tour, observing its 35th anniversary.
“Celebrate the Journey” consists of two major works. “I
Am Harvey Milk,” written by Broadway composer An-
drew Lippa, celebrates the life and legacy of the first
openly gay man elected to public office. The second half
of the concert is “A Brighter Day: Songs of Love and
Hope,” written by PGMC member Doug Bom and Port-
land Composer Scot Crandal. It celebrates progress over
the last 35 years for LGBT equality.
General admission tickets are available at the door on
the day of the concert, $10 per person, $5 each for seniors
(60-and-over) and students (with student ID). Funds
raised for this concert will stay within local communi-
ties, benefitting Gay-Straight Alliance student groups in
Hood River and The Dalles.

Klahre House Alternative
School students, using a
grant from the Hood River
Cultural Trust, have pro-
duced a challenging art pro-
ject they will unveil on April
8.
Teams of students worked
collaboratively to make indi-
vidual linoleum cut block
prints that also work togeth-
er to print as a larger block
of four.
Continuing their artistic
explorations into local histo-
ry and agriculture, they ti-
tled the project “Present Day
WPA: Exploring Our Agri-
cultural Heritage Through
Art.”
This is the students’ third
project with artist-in-resi-
dence Kelsey Mosley.
The public is invited to the
opening of an exhibit of
their artwork at the Hood
River Library’s conference
room on Wednesday, at 10:30
a.m., where the artwork will
be on display throughout the
month of April.

Cider Fest
returns April 11
On Saturday, April 11, 19
local and regional craft
cideries will gather in Hood
River for the second annual
Hood River Hard-Pressed
Cider Fest, where there will
be more than 38 ciders on
tap.
Eight of the cideries are
located in the Hood River
area – an indication of how
the Columbia Gorge region
is at the epicenter of the Pa-
cific Northwest’s booming
cider scene.
