Sunday evening, Nov. 2titb, a very
pretty wedding took place at the
home of Mr. and Mrs Win. Kedford,
it E. 2'iih ami Sherman streets,
Portland, Ore., when Mr. HI wood
Stanley Minchln, formerly of Hood
Klver. and Miss Sarah Olive Stnrgis,
of this city, were united In marriage
by the Kev. John Frederick Hanson
of t tie Friends church. The wedding
took place promptly at 7 o'clock
The bride was beautifully gowned In
white eolian crepe with white chiffon
overdress, and carried an arm bou
quet of bride's roses. Miss Dalls
Perkins, cousin of the bride, acted as
bridesmaid. She was tastefully
dressed In light blue silk and carried
pink carnations. Mr. Albert Lathrop
acted as best man. (July friends and
relatives of the bride ami groom
were present.

riage licenses were broken last month
County Clerk Hanson having Issued
an even dozen. This beats the
former high record, last .June, when
eleven permits to wed were given

BIG LAND DEAL
IN PINE GROVE
One of the largest real estate deals
of theyear wascl wed Saturday when
Philip I). A twitter, who recently sold
his 12'j acre place on "Shepard's
Lane," bought the 40-acre bearing
orchard of C. T. Koberts in the Pine
(irove district. This sale was con
summated by (i. Y. Kd wards & Co.,
who also sold the west side place for
Mr. Atwater.
Mr. Atwater takes immediate pos
session of his purchase and will pro
ceed to erect h large and modern ap
ple storage house adjoining the Mt.
Hood K. K. track, which runs across
one corner of his property.
Mr. Koberts hs rented the home
of T.'.W. Yates on Oak street and will
spend the winter la town.
