The Hood River Mineral Springs proHiHition wa endorsed by the meeting and the president and sec retary instructed to draft a proper letter of endorsement. The name of the club which is Incorporated under It original title of the llaalo Com mercial Club wa ordered changed to the Hood lliver Commercl'il Club. The organization wa Invited to send a delegation to a booster meet ing to be held at Seattle. It was de cided however that publicity efforts should le confined to Hood River at present. STILL SURVEYING FOR ELECTRIC RAILROAD Allot her survey was run last week says the ltlngen Observer, from the town of White Salmon to what Is known as the White Salmon boat landing in an effort to get a grade for a steam or electric railroad Im-- tween the two points without touch ing the townslte of lllugen, but a pre liminary survey was also made fol lowing the county road connecting the two towns. The feasibility of such a road has Its staunch supporters and otherwise. The grade to overcome Is a rise of 4i Mt feet In less than a in lie and a half, but It Is claimed that this can Ih done by a switch back arrangement lengthening the distance to about two miles or over. If it Is successfully accomplished It will rank as one of the scenic railroads of the country.
