reached Camp Rhododendron late
that ulght and made the Journey up
the mountain to the Ice line by Sim
day noon. The weather wan clear

deep at various points. The air wan
keen and brisk and not very much
wind wan stirring, which helped
make the outing the inont pleanant
of any of the annual events I have
attended.

and we were made to feel at home all
the time. Each day we ('limited the

SNOWSHOE CLUB TAKES
ANNUAL MIDWINTER OUTING
The Portland Snowshoe club ar
rived here Thursday night for Its an
nual outing on Mount Hood. The
members occupied their new club
house which was built last summer
for the first time and spent several
days climbing about the mountain.
They returned to Hood Illver last
night. In the party were J. Wesley
I. mid, Jordan are, It. I., (illsan, II.
I.. Corbet t, Pavid Honeymnn, E. C.
Hrouaugh, Horace Mecklln, W. H.
Honeymnn, Herlert 0 Nichols and
n colored cook. The trip Is stated
by some of tin' members to have been
the most enjoyable the club has ever
taken, the weather having lecn Ideal.
The snow on the mountain Is re
ported as not Is'lng so deep as In
former years, but plentiful enough to
suit the most enthusiastic snow reveller.
