the Oregon grill, and Outhank and
the other boys who are members left
here Monday to be In attendance.
WOMAN'S LEAGUE HAS
INTERESTING MEETING
Hood Klver Chapter held a very
Interesting meeting at the home of
Mrs. S. E. liartmesH Friday evening.
Sept. 0th, for the purpose of hearing
from and meeting Mrs. Donathan, a
member of the Spokane chapter.
She spent three months In Spokane
during their organization. They
have qualified for a ten thousand
dollar Chapter House, but will have
one costing a million dollars. The
lot and marble for the building has
been donated, hence the ten thou
sand will be used In equipment,
which will be furnlwlied from na
tional headquarters.
As might be expected, Mrs. Dona
than was very enthusiastic over the
"Plan" of the American Woman's
Ix-ngue and what great things have
leen done for the uplifting of Its
members, Mrs. Donathan was at
the convention at University City
aud saw for herself The People's Uni
versity, Its faculty and the many fine
works of art on exhibition, the work
of honor pupils. She has bet n- at
Los Angeles, where they have a

many other cities where they are
taking advantage of the benefits
of league membership. A new fea
ture has Imh'u added since the con
ventlon, which Is going to be one of
the grand features. It Is the aflilla
tlcin of Chautauqua Heading Circle,
Its books and magazines Mnn In
cluded In Class A literature, and can
lie used on paying membership fee.
We want to form a large class here,
as nothing would help so much to
broaden Its members as this reading
course. Could the people of Hood
Klver take time to Investigate the
object and tH'nefit of the league, we
would be able to secure our Chapter
House very soon.
If each memlHT will secure one
other, the work will le done. W e are
receiving additions to our league and
are In a hopeful spirit. Meeting In
our rooms first and third Wednes
day afternoons of each month. Next
