STREET OILING
NOTJXPENSIVE
Property owner on State street
who have been Investigating street
oiling have secured Information to
the effect that in Portland where It
ha been tried It has cost jroperty
owners less than fWJ per mile for a
twenty foot street. On the country
roads In Multnomah where It has
been applied In large ijuantltlen the
; cost has been about (2) per mile.
The matter has been taken up with
the Idea of oiling a block or two In
the city and giving It a test. It I
thought that relief from the dust
and Its benefit In preserving the
street will discount the cost many
times.
