School closed Tuesday. In the
forenoon the children were treated to
Ice cream and the Livingstone prizes
awarded. The afternoon was taken
up by a program prepared by Mrs.
Tousey and Miss Walker for the ben
efit of the parents. The following

musical program, greatly enjoyed by
all, after which she served delicious

Fannie Haynes gave a party for
some of her friends Wednesday even

There were about fifty present nnd
all had a most delightful time.
A fine new touring car was seen In
the suWrbs this week. We thought
that some of the neighbors had
blown themselAes, but heard that It
was some of the White Salmon look
ing our country over, probably for
an Investment.

service last Sunday that only one
more Sunday could he Ih with us as
he had accepted the charge In Pay
ton, Wash., owing to the pastor
there resigning on account of Illness.
The Intelligence wns received with
great regret by all. as through his
kindness nnd consideration he has
endeared himself to all. Much as we
regret to lose Kev. Spauldlng and
his estimable wife and children we
recognize he will have a much larger
sphere in which to labor, and the
citizens of Dayton will gala what we
lose. The vacancy will le filled by
Kev. Hayes, who comes well recom
