County Clerk, Ueorge I. Culbertson,
and his axHlritauts and he has lip-
proved the records, which have In
turn been accepted by the county
and placed In the court bouse as a
part of the county records. The
county commissioners met Tuesday
ami after acceptance of the records,
Charles V. Went, as the assignee of
Hughes & Went, who contracted to
transcribe the records put In a bill of
!Mio.JO as the balance due lilm for
the work of copying the records.
The county olliclals took the stand
that the cost of comparing and cor
recting the records should be borne
by Mr. Wenfz. Thlsexpense amount
ed to $11 "!.;;."), so that according to
their claims there Is (27 due the
county from Mr. Wentz. The latter
does not feel that lie should bear all

In talking with the manager of the
I'nlon yesterday we learned that
many crates of strawberries are be
ing dally shipped on the north bank
road by the local union. All the ter

from this side to the north bank at
an expense of only six cents, thereby
