manufacture of brick. The plant has

A gaug of Greeks employed on the
section of the Mt. Hood railroad en
gaged In a lively light Sunday after
noon at Trout creek. One of them
was quite badly battered but was
still in the ring Monday when It came
time to go to work.
The recent announcement thut the
American Express Co. had bought
the express business of the Pacltic
Express Co. on the coast, was verified
locally last week when the agent
here was notified and a sign hung
over the door of the express office
making the fact known.
Fred Ileitis was agreeably surpris
ed by the arrival here Monday of
a soldier comrade whom he had uot
seen for forty-five years until he met

raca class enjoyed a very pleasant
evening with Mr. and Mrs. H. F.
Davidson last Thursday. The eve
ning was spent In playing games,
listening to music and In partaking
of the delicious refreshments provided
by the host anil hostess. The latter
were served by Miss Helen Davidson,
assisted by Miss M utile Farnall. In
