Davis Friday morning to answer to the charge of selling liquors In the bar after the closing hour of mid night. A fine of $20 was Imposed which was paid. It Is claimed that a slow clock was responsible for the break ing of the law, the timepiece being five minutes slow, Just enough so as to get someone Into trouble. Kach structure Is an Important addition to the Improvements of the city lu which It Is located. Other cities along the Great Northern are lu line for similar accommodations as the Hill line Is sparing no money to cater to Its patrons In the best possible style. As Wenatchee Is to be the headquarters through which all of the Upper Columbia river business will te handled. It has a station far ahead of anything to be fouad In an other town of Its size. But It Is growing so rapidly that It wont be long until the town Is abreast of this Improvement. Farms in the Northwest Have Doubled In the last five years the number of farms In the northwest bos doubled, until today there are 211,000 which yielded products In 1909 having a total value of $404,000,000. The vari ous states stand as follows: Oregon 75,000 farms;Vashlngton 60,0K) farms Idaho 40.000 farms; Montana 30,000 farms. There are millions of acres of land Idle now that could be put un der cultivation on a revenue basis. With the bnck-to-thc-land tendencies of the present day It Is certain that the number of farms In the northwest will continue to Increase for many years to come. Funeral of 0. L. Stranahan. The funeral of O. L. Stranahan was held Thursday afternoon from his late residence and was largely at tended. The pall liearers were mem bers of Canny Tost, O. A. It., and the services were conducted by Rev. T. 1$. Ford and the minister of the Methodist church at University Park which Mr. Stranahan had attended during his residence there.
