The new armory at the Oregon
Agricultural College Is nearing com
pletion. It is tlie largest building of
its kind in the West. It Is 1:H feet
long and 0 yards wide. A regula
tion sized football field could be laid
out under Its roof. It will lie a great
boom to all kinds of athletics. Indi
cations are that short courses for
farmers and teachers which will com
mence at the Oregon Agricultural
College Janury 4th, will le very well
attended.

the district attorney.

Davis road Issued the final order for
its opening. The same disposition
was made of the A. T. Allen road,
petitioners pay all the costs. The
services of the viewers were also ac
cepted In regard to this road.
An application from J. A. Kumford
for the correction of an error In Ills
taxes for !IS was received and $10.21
ordered refunded to Mm.
In respouse to a etltiou the court
appropriated $250 for the Improve
ment of the boat landing road.

So many of the Pathe picture films
are shown at the Oak theatre and
are enjoyed by so many theatregoers
that a little Information concerning
the leading producers of the moving
picture world will not lie unwelcome
to the thousands of amusement lov
ers who derive so much pleasure from

The Pathe Freres ( Pathe Brothers)
occupy ten acres of ground, operate
f'jur enormous factories and have a
staff of over 3,000 employes. The
plants are located in Paris, Joinvllle-
le-pont, MuDtreull-sous-Bols and Vln
cenes, where tbey have doxens of
photographic studios, two complete
theatres and thousands of dollars
worth of costumes and scenic equip
ment. At the present time they take
over 4,000,000 pictures a day, w hich
means about 14,819 miles of negative
film a year.

Ten Thousand Cars In S Years.
It Is estimated that over 1,000,000
fruit trees, covering 15,000 ucres will
be planted In the Kogue river valley
this winter, which will make a
total orchard area of at least 65,000
acres tributary to Medford. In
five years It Is estimated that this
valley, which at present ships more
cars of fruit than any other section
of the Northwest, will ship at least
10.000 carloads of fruit each year.
