    ‘Seascape’
production set
for Nehalem

Cathedral Tree Trail in Astoria provides access to a unique Sitka spruce.
“Seascape,” a play written by Edward Albee,
will open on Friday night in Nehalem.
NEHALEM – “Seascape,” a perfor-
mance from Rising Tide Productions, will
open 7 p.m. on Friday at the Nehalem
County Recreation District Performing Arts
Center.
Written by Edward Albee, the production
centers on an older couple, joined in discus-
sion on a sandy shore by a pair of lizards
for a fascinating set of dialogue. The show,
directed by Margaret Page and art directed
by George Dzundza, runs at 7 p.m. on Fri-
days and Saturdays and 2 p.m. on Sundays
through Sept. 25.

Hikers invited to venture
out on Cathedral Tree Trail
ASTORIA – Angora Hiking Club will
lead a group of hikers on the Cathedral Tree
Trail starting at 1 p.m. Wednesday.
The exploration, led by Eric Wheeler
and Ken Dell, will follow an easy to moder-
ate path that leads to the tree, a serene spot
with a unique trunk formation.
Angora Hiking Club member dues
are $10 annually. Participants need not
be club members. For more information

Hoff man Center
to host plant,
garden sale
MANZANITA – An annual plant sale
will be held at Hoff man Center for the Arts,
with online shopping for nursery plants
available starting Thursday.
Bright and colorful garden additions,
including plants as well as metal and fi ber
art, will be on sale through Sept. 8. A sale
in the center’s garden will also be held from
10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 10.
This event is free and open to the pub-
