ASTORIA – Country-folk duo A
Town Called Home will play at Fort
George Brewery at 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Multi-instrumentalists Howdy
and Marilyn Darrell fuse Texas
roots with a West coast vibe, with
introspective lyrics and a storytell-
ing approach.
Learning ragtime piano from her
grandmother at 4 years old, Marilyn
takes inspiration from growing up
in rural Nebraska as well as the red-
woods and mountains of Northern
California, while Howdy conjures
imagery of South Texas.

Angora Hiking Club leads exploration
of Gnat Creek Fish Hatchery Saturday
ASTORIA – Angora Hiking Club will
lead a group hike to Gnat Creek Fish Hatch-
ery at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
Led by Xia Amendolara, the hike will
depart from Marine Drive in Astoria,
between Second and Third streets.
Angora Hiking Club member dues are
$10 annually. Participants need not be club

Miho & Diego present music across language barriers
ILWACO, Wash. – Musical duo Miho &
Diego will present “A musical trip around
the world” at Waikiki Beach Amphitheater
at 10 a.m. on Sunday.
Presented as a participatory music pro-
gram for youth, the group encourages audi-
ence members of this show to sing along
as they present selections from their home
countries of Japan and Colombia.
This event is free and open to the public.
