Davis prefers acrylic. Both also
teach classes within the space.
Now the loft is gearing up
for one of its most anticipated
events. The annual Astoria Open
Studios Tour, hosted in conjunc-
tion with Astoria Visual Arts,
will take place later this month.
“We enjoy a warm relation-
ship with the other art groups
on the North Coast and like
to collaborate with many art-
ists,” Davis said. “We are also
supportive and grateful for the
other local art galleries which
contribute so much to the art
community.” Besides collab-
orations, the owners appreci-
ate the importance of meeting
locals and visitors. “There is no
substitute for working with an
individual instructor and other
artists,” Davis said. The follow-
ing classes are on their docket:
Chinese Brush Painting class
with Tom Grogg, a watercolor
workshop with Mick McAn-
drews, Calligraphy class, a
marbling class, Saturday Art
Adventures and curated gallery
exhibits.
Davis and Pomeroy-Crock-
ett don’t seem to be stopping
anytime soon. “Because we
love art and enjoy people, the
Astoria Art Loft doesn’t feel
like work,” Davis said.
