Rose Gerber & Sweet Relief to perform in Astoria
ASTORIA – Rose Gerber & Sweet Relief, a Port-
land-based alternative and country group, will perform
at Fort George Brewery at 6 p.m. on Sunday.
Emerging from garage practice sessions, the fi ve-
piece band combines soaring harmonies with rock
instrumentals.
This performance is free and open to the public.

Brownsmead Flats to play at
Cape Disappointment State Park
ILWACO, Wash. – Brownsmead Flats,
a local acoustic band with a maritime blue-
grass sound, will perform at Cape Disap-
pointment State Park at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Named for the town of Brownsmead
along the Columbia River, the group,
consisting of Ray Räihälä, Dan Palen-
ske-Sutherland, Ned Heavenrich, John Fen-
ton and Larry Moore, will perform as part
of the park’s summer folk and traditional
concert series.
