The FRCs will replace Island-Class 110-foot Patrol Boats that are nearing the end of their service life. Improvements to facilities lo- cated on the eastern shoreline of Tongue Point are necessary to sup- port homeporting the vessels at the proposed location. Construction activities will include dredging, pier improvements, and constructing support infrastructure. Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act, the Coast Guard prepared a Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) to assess the potential environmental impacts resulting from the proposed project and construction activities.
