The Friends of Suomi Hall
and the Astoria Finnish Broth-
erhood are off ering a free week-
long summer school focusing
on Finnish culture, with the sup-
port of a grant from the Clatsop
County Cultural Coalition and
the Oregon Cultural Trust.
The school will be held from
9 a.m. to noon Aug. 8 through
Aug. 12 at Suomi Hall, 244 W.
Marine Drive, and is open to
all children ages 6 to 12 years
old. A Finnish heritage is not
required, just an interest in Fin-
land’s culture, music, traditions,
food, dance and crafts.
Registration is limited, and
registration forms must be
returned by June 30. As atten-
dance is limited, enrollment
