Celebration dinner
to commemorate
Long Beach centennial
LONG BEACH, Wash. — A Cen-
tennial Celebration Dinner honor-
ing Long Beach will take place at the
Elks Lodge on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Organized by the Long Beach
Merchants Association, this event
will honor community fi gures from
the city’s past century of life and
growth.
The dinner will feature a 1922
theme according to the city’s cen-
tennial celebration, including danc-
ing, live music, entertainment and
a meal prepared by chef Casey
Barella of The Chowder Stop. For

Loyalty Days Parade
to celebrate city
centennial anniversary
LONG BEACH, Wash. — The
annual Loyalty Days Parade will
return to the streets of Long Beach
on Sunday at 1 p.m.
Loyalty Day is an opportunity
to celebrate active duty veterans
and greater patriotism. Community
members and organizations in the
Columbia-Pacifi c region are dedi-
cated to celebrating the holiday each
year with one of the longest running
parades in the United States.
This year’s event will feature a
centennial theme, celebrating the
100th anniversary of Long Beach.
This event is free and open to all.

North Coast
Big Band set to
perform jazz concert
ASTORIA — The North Coast
Big Band will perform a jazz con-
cert at the Charlene Larsen Per-
forming Arts Center on Sunday at
4 p.m.
The show will feature local
jazz musicians Brian Bergman,
Scott Cuthbert, Terry Dahlgren,
Dave Drury, Judy Shatto and Jesse
Strauch in celebration of music
from the big band era.
Admission for the show is $15.
Masks and social distancing are
required. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.

Tolovana Arts
Colony to host show
benefi tting Ukraine
CANNON BEACH — Tolo-
vana Arts Colony will host “Sun-
fl owers for Peace,” an art show
and fundraiser benefi tting children
aff ected by the war in Ukraine, at
Tolovana Hall on Saturday from 5
to 8 p.m.
The event will feature local art
for sale alongside Ukrainian music
and foods. All proceeds collected
from sales will go directly to Voices
of Children, an aid organization
supporting children in Ukraine.

North Coast
Food Web to
open virtual
farmers’ market
ASTORIA — North Coast Online Farmers’
Market, a weekly digital outlet from the North
Coast Food Web, will reopen on Sunday at 9 a.m.
Formerly known as Small Farms Market Day,
the new market will allow customers to order
goods online each week beginning each Sunday
at 9 a.m. and running through Tuesday at mid-
night. Items can be picked up at the North Coast
Food Web each Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m.
More than 40 local farms and food merchants
on the North Coast will off er a rotating supply
of items at the market. Customers can also take
advantage of a limited match program on fresh
fruits and vegetables. For more information, visit
