U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici is now accepting
submissions for the 2022 Congressional Art Compe-
tition, which is open to any student in grades nine
through 12 who lives in, or attends school in, Ore-
gon’s 1st Congressional District, which includes
Clatsop County.
A panel of local artists will select the winning stu-
dent artist, whose artwork will be displayed in the
U.S. Capitol for a year. All participating students will
be invited to a reception with Bonamici where the
winner will be announced, and all submissions will
be shown.
Students interested in submitting artwork
can fi nd information at bonamici.house.gov/ser-
vices/art-competition. The submission deadline is
April 29.
Art may be mailed to U.S. Rep. Suzanne Bonamici,
12725 S.W. Millikan Way, Suite 220, Beaverton,
OR., 97005. Art may be dropped off in person from
8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. April 27 and April 29, or by
calling 503-469-6010 to arrange a time.
AAUW accepting
scholarship applications
Applications for a $3,000 scholarship
from the American Association of University
Women Astoria Branch are now being accepted.
Previous recipients of AAUW scholarships are not
eligible.
The deadline for applications is May 1. To apply,
students must submit an essay, a recommenda-
tion and a transcript. The application form, and the
requirements to apply, are at astoria-or.aauw.net/
scholarships.

plans 50th reunion
The Astoria High School Class of 1972 is holding
its 50th reunion Sept. 16 and Sept. 17.

early.
