Church hosts hymn concert
ahead of Easter holiday
Trail’s End Art Association will host a watercolor painting workshop focused on seascapes.
Trail’s End offers watercolor
workshop featuring seascapes
GEARHART — Artist Linda Geb-
hart will lead “Painting a Watercolor Sea-
scape,” a workshop focused on ocean land-
scapes of the North Coast, at Trail’s End
Art Association on Saturday from 10 a.m.
to noon.
All materials for the workshop will be
provided by the gallery. Each participant
will leave the workshop with a completed,
matted seascape to display and treasure.
Trail’s End Art Association is the old-
est nonprofit group of its kind on the North
Coast. The association’s Gearhart gal-
lery hosts monthly shows in addition to its
mainstay prints, cards, jewelry and pottery.
Gebhart paints seascapes, architecture,
and landscapes, often using recycled mate-
rials for matting and framing her work.
Participation in this workshop costs $30
for members of Trail’s End Art Association
and $35 for non-members. To register, visit

Portland Audubon Society offers
snowy plover patrol training sessions
PORTLAND – The Portland Audubon
Society will partner with the Oregon Parks
and Recreation Department and the Institute
for Natural Resources to offer a series of
virtual sessions about Western snowy plo-
vers on Saturday and Sunday.
The virtual series aims to train volun-
teers to participate in the Snowy Plover
Patrol Program, an effort to collect data on
the local, protected bird species over the
course of spring and summer. Topics for
these training sessions will include history,
threats, legal status, management and data
collection strategies.

Western snowy plovers are a protected species
and are aided by habitat-conservation efforts
on the north end of the Long Beach Peninsula.

North Coast Chorale to perform in Astoria
ASTORIA — The North Coast Chorale will
perform a selection of Easter hymns, chorales,
spirituals and gospel songs at the First Presby-
terian Church in Astoria at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Founded to promote choral literature
and music education, the North Coast Cho-
rale has offered musical fellowship in a
community setting for more than 30 years.
With direction from Denise Reed and sup-
port from the Oregon Arts Commission and
Oregon Cultural Trust, the group follows an
annual calendar of performances, including
this much anticipated spring concert.
Admission to the concert is free, while
donations are appreciated. Masks and
COVID vaccination are encouraged for all

CANNON BEACH — John and Susan
Buehler will perform hymns in celebra-
tion of Holy Week and Easter at Cannon
Beach Community Church on Sunday at
4 p.m.
The concert is part of the church’s
April music festival, a monthlong event
series featuring performances on piano,
violin, organ, cello, flute and more.

Coaster Theatre offers
audition workshop
CANNON BEACH — Coaster Theatre
Playhouse will offer a workshop dedicated
to building audition skills for theater roles
on Saturday from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
The workshop is aimed at experienced
performers and first time actors alike. Par-
ticipants will cover the full audition pro-
cess, including warm up, cold readings,
prepared monologues and dance routines.
The group will also discuss materials like
headshots and resumes.
This workshop is free and open to all
participants ages 12 and over. Masks and
proof of COVID vaccination are required
for all participants. For more information

Tillamook merchants host
‘sip and shop’ event
TILLAMOOK — Downtown Tilla-
mook merchants will host “Sip and Shop,”
an event offering selections of regional
wine and beer alongside local goods on
Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Participating businesses will host a
variety of sales and events. These include
the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum,
Tillamook Area Chamber of Commerce,
West Elliott Boutique, Recurrent, Riv-
erside Floral, Find Roots, Likely Finds
Antique Boutique, Madeline’s Vintage
Marketplace and more.
