Coast Weekend accepting spring poetry submissions

COAST WEEKEND EDITOR
The sun is setting later in the evening
and the fi rst sprigs of new greenery have
begun to signal a change of season on the
North Coast. As winter days turn to spring,
plans and ideas start to come into focus.
Bright, blue days and wildfl ower meadows
are on the horizon and long days of hiking
and road trips are in view.
ON THE
COVER
Some might say that spring brings out
the poet in each of us. This year, Coast
Weekend will once again feature a collec-
tion of readers’ poetry focused on the new
season. Musings on landscape changes,
wildlife, family and community traditions
and more are welcome, as are other inter-
pretations of “Springtime.” Readers at all
levels of writing experience, whether pub-
lished authors, students or those trying a
hand at poetry for the fi rst time are invited
to submit up to three original poems for a

Missing ingredients — A recipe for razor clam fritters in the March 10 edition of Coast Weekend
left out additional ingredients. The additional ingredients are ½ cup clam broth or fi sh stock, ½ cup
beer, dash of chili sauce or Tabasco, teaspoon salt or to your taste, 2½ teaspoons baking powder, 1
teaspoon baking soda and 2 teaspoons corn starch, as well as the suggestion to serve with “remou-
