The two were married by a non-denominational minister with a small group of friends
and family present. “The ceremony itself was short and sweet, and it was special to have
such a close group of only about 20 people,” Isabelle said. The ceremony was followed by
a reception in the ballroom of the Surfsand Resort, and topped off by a crackling bonfire
on the shore.
“Everyone in Cannon Beach was amazing to help make (the wedding) happen on
such short notice,” Isabelle said. Flower bouquets were provided from local vendors and a
cake was made by Cannon Beach Bakery.
“It was challenging getting friends and family here from all over the country —
New York, Michigan and California — but we did it,” Isabelle said. There’s one group of
guests they had no trouble securing, however. “It wasn’t hard to coax my family,” Isabelle
said. “Whenever they would visit from back east, Cannon Beach is where they always
wanted to come. The coast is so different from the beaches there. Getting married at the
beach was the right fit for us.”
“Before the ceremony, a friend asked me if I was nervous. But I wasn’t at all. The beach
makes me so relaxed, and, surrounded by my friends and family, the day couldn’t have
been more perfect,” the bride concluded, adding, “even when it’s rainy, the beach is great.
“It was a great day. A day made for fun with loved ones.”
