he most casual wedding ever. Just perfect for Matthew and me,” said new bride Isabelle Crittenden
about the couple’s wedding ceremony at Cannon Beach last summer.
Since moving to Portland a few years ago, Cannon Beach has been a place both Isabelle and
Matt Crittenden love. “Matt’s sister moved to Portland from California. As for me, I know it’s silly, but I’ve always loved ‘The
Goonies.’ It’s my favorite — just the coolest thing ever. The Oregon Coast had been on my mind for a long time,” Isabelle said.
When she landed a job in Vancouver, she was happy to make the cross-country move from the East Coast.
The couple met through mutual friends in Portland, hitting it off and helping each other grow through tough times. “We
started dating in February of 2020, a strange time during COVID, but we made it through and got engaged in March 2021,”
Isabelle said. At the time, the couple planned on a large wedding in about a year, but in April a new chapter began.
“We found out that I was expecting, so we decided to move the date up and do something small and intimate,” Isabelle said.
