He decided to propose in Cannon Beach, where he’d first taken Erika and Max when
they’d moved to Oregon and where they walked their dog year-round, enjoying the rugged
shore. Cannon Beach exemplified all that the Pacific Northwest had to offer, and it felt just
right as the spot to take the next step in their relationship.
They knew they wanted their dog present at their Cannon Beach wedding, since he
had been there with them from the very beginning all those years before, and decided that
the Surfsand Resort was the perfect venue for their wedding ceremony. Its sweeping vistas,
served a double purpose, allowing friends and family from all over the country to safely
gather and celebrate their union, while sharing an appreciation of the landscape Travis and
Erika called home.
When the couple’s family traveled to their North Coast wedding from Florida and the
Midwest, they were stunned by the scenic and expansive shoreline and enchanted by the
region’s charm. With Max as their Dog of Honor and Cannon Beach’s iconic Haystack Rock
as a backdrop, the couple was wed, followed by a lively afterparty complete with bonfire and
a guitar serenade, with family and friends by their side.
Looking back, the couple fondly identifies Cannon Beach as the common thread tying
their life in the Pacific Northwest together, and credits the attentive staff of their venue host
for the seamless execution of their ceremony, reception and bonfire celebrations.
